Florida's Treasure Coast Shopping
Florida's Treasure Coast -- fabled for Great Escapes and Good Nature -- yields the inevitable trove of shopping options, from a regional mall and main street shops to a tour-de-force flea market. Port St. Lucie's Shell Bazaar has stocked souvenirs, shells, and coral for nearly half a century. Downtown Stuart's historic district with its Victorian-style lampposts showcases antiques and collectibles, objects d'art, and wearable art, along with fine dining options. The Post Office Arcade is a magnet, as are Osceola and Flagler Street shops. For breaks between shop-hopping, a nearby waterfront walkway allows for soaking up the fabled Good Nature. Treasure Coast Square Mall, anchored by Macy's, Dillard's, JCPenney, and Sears, also has specialty shops, restaurants and a food court, plus movie theatres.
Harbor Bay Plaza provides for fine dining, gift specialty shops and gourmet treats. In Vero Beach near the Disney Vero Beach Resort, Indian River Mall, anchored by Macy's, Dillard's, Sears, and JCPenney, has more than 80 specialty stores including All That's Natural and Icing By Claire's. Indian River Commons, next to the mall, features Ross Dress For Less, Best Buy, Lowe's and more. The Outlets at Vero Beach, with more than 65 upscale stores, feature such names as Ann Taylor, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, and Van Heusen. B&A Flea Market, the Treasure Coast's largest, oldest weekend indoor / outdoor flea market, has free admission, plenty of parking and more than 600 vendors. Martin County retailers cater to international visitors, offering a translation service including sign language through the Stuart / Martin County Chamber of Commerce. Retailers can arrange for assistance from approximately 20 translators speaking Chinese, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Russian.
